Theros Block

The Theros block, consisting of Theros (released September 27, 2013), Born of the Gods (February 7, 2014), and Journey into Nyx (May 2, 2014), draws heavy inspiration from Greek mythology, bringing gods, heroes, and monsters to the forefront of Magic’s storytelling. The block introduces the Devotion, Bestow, Heroic, and Monstrosity mechanics, later adding Inspired, Tribute, Constellation, and Strive. Enchantment creatures and the god card type are key features throughout. Notable cards include Thoughtseize (Theros reprint), Elspeth, Sun’s Champion, Eidolon of the Great Revel, Courser of Kruphix, and Keranos, God of Storms.
