Modern Event Deck 2014

Modern Event Deck 2014, released on May 30, 2014, was Magic: The Gathering’s first preconstructed deck aimed specifically at the Modern format. Built around a white-black tokens strategy, the 60-card deck plus 15-card sideboard featured competitive staples like Path to Exile, Inquisition of Kozilek, and Elspeth, Knight-Errant. It was designed to be tournament-ready out of the box, offering newer players an affordable entry point into Modern play. Though it saw limited follow-up, the Modern Event Deck remains notable as Wizards’ early attempt to support the Modern format with a complete, ready-to-play product.
