Collector's Edition

Collector’s Edition, released in December 1993, was one of Magic: The Gathering’s earliest printings aimed specifically at collectors. It featured a complete set of all 302 cards from the original Alpha release, including the Power Nine, printed with square corners and a gold-bordered back to distinguish them from tournament-legal cards. Intended as a non-playable keepsake, Collector’s Edition offered fans a way to own the entire early card pool in one product. Its international counterpart, International Collector’s Edition, featured minor packaging differences but identical card contents. Despite being non-tournament legal, these sets remain highly sought after by collectors for their historical value and iconic contents.
