Artist Proof

Artist Proofs are special, limited-run Magic: The Gathering cards given directly to the illustrators by Wizards of the Coast. These proofs have a blank white back instead of the standard card back and are typically used by artists for signatures, sketches, or resale at events and online. Each artist receives a small number of proofs for every card they illustrate—usually 50 non-foils and 30 foils—making them highly collectible. While not tournament-legal, Artist Proofs are prized by collectors for their rarity, direct connection to the artist, and the unique opportunity to own one-of-a-kind hand-sketched versions.
